Annual Street Outreach Workers Conference

This conference is targeted toward those workers and their administrators who provide street outreach services. This conference is also an opportunity to celebrate the street-level warriors in the fight against HIV and related diseases among substance users. This conference is generally held in June for approximately 300 persons from Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Topics range from didactic information about diseases such as Hepatitis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases to highly participatory workshops on implementing harm reduction models.

HIV Early Intervention Workshops

The HIV Connection provides a series of workshops for persons who are funded by the Department of State Health Services to provide HIV early intervention services. This seminar focuses on providing information about the services required by clients who are HIV positive, such as case management, medication and medical, transportation, housing, financial and legal needs. These workshops are generally held within a larger conference event during the fall.
